Warranty terms

Warranty

Gastromex OÜ provides a warranty for construction, manufacturing and material defects in the equipment it sells. After the warranty period ends, a claim that a defect was reported during the warranty period is valid only if the report was made in writing.

The warranty period for new equipment is one year from handover to the buyer. For used equipment it is three months. The warranty applies to the first buyer/user. A customer requesting warranty repairs must provide evidence that the equipment is within its warranty period.

What the warranty covers

The warranty covers the costs of correcting construction, manufacturing and material defects identified by Gastromex OÜ during the warranty period. Repairs are performed by Gastromex OÜ or an authorised service company to restore the equipment to working order. Replaced parts belong to the seller and must be returned.

Warranty repairs

Fixed equipment is repaired at the customer’s premises on working days from 08:00 to 16:30. Work outside these hours may be arranged at the customer’s request; the customer pays the resulting additional costs. For assessment and repair, equipment that is easily transported and disconnected from water and electricity must be delivered by the buyer, at their expense, to Gastromex OÜ or its authorised service company. Transport and disconnection of large or technically complex equipment must be agreed in advance. The customer must provide unobstructed access for the technician. Repaired equipment is collected by the customer or returned at their expense.

Limitations of warranty and liability

The warranty applies where the equipment has been used under normal conditions and the operating instructions have been followed carefully. Subject to mandatory law, the warranty does not compensate losses caused by a defect, including damage to property, persons or other items, lost income or other indirect losses. Warranty repairs do not include routine maintenance or costs caused by failure to follow operating and maintenance requirements.

Defects not covered

  • Incorrect transport, lifting, movement or installation, unless carried out by persons authorised by Gastromex OÜ.
  • User negligence, overloading or failure to follow operating instructions or conditions.
  • Use for a purpose other than the intended purpose.
  • Conditions outside Gastromex OÜ’s control, including voltage fluctuations, fire, incorrect connections, excessive water hardness, unsuitable water pressure, or damage caused by unauthorised repairs, maintenance or structural modifications.
  • Incorrect installation or positioning, including failure to follow installation and operating instructions.
  • Improper storage by the user, for example at freezing temperatures.

Minor defects, adjustments, instruction and accessories

The warranty does not cover surface scratches that do not affect operation, adjustments described in normal operating instructions, on-site user training, cleaning required because of impurities in the customer’s steam or water supply, or work caused by failure to follow precautionary or installation rules or by explaining those rules at the installation site. Parts normally subject to breakage or wear through use, including indicator lamps, movable plastic parts, seals and filters, are not covered.

Equipment connected to a water supply

The connected water supply must meet the following requirements:

  • Total hardness: 0.5–5° to avoid scale in the boiler. An automatically regenerating water softener may be fitted to the inlet pipe on request; the optional polymer sterilisation kit may also be purchased.
  • Pressure: 150–250 kPa (1.5–2.5 bar). Higher pressure increases water consumption. Chloride-ion concentration (Cl−): no more than approximately 10 ppm to avoid damage to the oven’s steel parts.
  • pH: above 7. A special inlet filtration device can be supplied on request; it also softens water to below 5° F.

Reporting a defect

Notify Gastromex OÜ immediately if a defect appears during the warranty period. Identify the equipment by brand and model, describe the defect as accurately as possible and explain when and under what conditions it occurs. Gastromex OÜ will determine whether the equipment and defect are covered and provide information about the method and timing of repair. Contact: info@gastroeesti.ee, +372 6090 633.
